SEO for healthcare organizations

Multi-location providers, acquired practices and regional brands make healthcare SEO a structure problem first. I've built it, merged it and lived with the results.

What I understand about Healthcare that generalists don't

Healthcare roll-ups live or die on brand structure.

Patients search for the local name they know. Retire it before the parent brand has earned recognition in that market and the branded demand has nowhere to land.

I've worked healthcare from every side.

I've worked at healthcare agencies (Cardinal Digital Marketing, IV Interactive) and in-house at a national home health care brand, and I've spoken on healthcare marketing on podcasts.

Location pages are an architecture decision.

Hundreds of near-duplicate pages need a plan for what to keep, merge or retire. I decide that page by page, not by section.

At LifeStance Health I led SEO due diligence, integration and organic growth across 20+ regional mental health brand acquisitions, then consolidated them into the parent domain ahead of the IPO.

Questions Healthcare teams ask

Do you have experience with healthcare specifically?

Yes. I've worked at healthcare agencies (Cardinal Digital Marketing and IV Interactive), in-house at Epic Health Care, and on the LifeStance Health roll-up. I've also been a guest on healthcare marketing podcasts.

How do you handle a roll-up of regional healthcare brands?

Each brand is assessed individually, then overlap across the group is mapped, including assets you already own. At LifeStance, some brands merged straight into the parent domain and others ran under their own names first.

Should we retire the regional brand names after an acquisition?

Not too early. Local patients search for the name they know. I recommend when to merge based on brand equity and content overlap, and in what order.

Do you work with patient data?

No. The work uses analytics, Search Console and crawl data. If anything sensitive comes up, we handle it under NDA and I'd ask for aggregated data only.

Can you work alongside our agency?

Yes. I govern the work and your agency or in-house team keeps the build.
